No Tornadoes

I am currently still in Clarksville, TN, and last night we had tornado watches/warnings in the area. Not much happened, it was windy and rained, apparently there was a little thunder/lightning. I mostly slept thru it while my friend stayed up, keeping an eye on things.

Getting antsy to get back on the road. I want to get home, to have a home. Transient life is not for me.

I planned to post about yesterday either last night or this morning, but I got tired. Then today has been sad so I don't feel like writing much. Attaching pictures of the outside of Antique Archeology and our hotel room at Home2Suites in Nashville.

Hyatt Place in Roanoke

Our room at the Hyatt Place in Roanoke was pretty cool, but it was kinda stuffy so I didn't sleep well. They had egg mcmuffin type sandwiches for breakfast, and there was one pancake (as well as the usual continental breakfast foods), but no croissant sandwiches or french toast like they picture/claim to have. Maybe you have to request them?

Moving Day!

This is what it looked like out this morning, when I had to finish packing my car (which was quite a feat). After doing that, and cleaning up the apartment as much as I could without the roommate's stuff all being gone, we made a few stops, then had one last meal at Specific Gravity.

We didn't hit the road until about 3pm, so we're around Manassas, VA (seeing a few snow flurries) and its looking like we'll get to Roanoke, VA around 9pm. I am going to enjoy the king-size bed after 3 nights on just an inch or so of foam.

I don't think there will be much else to report tonight. Maybe I'll share a picture of the hotel room when I get there. :)

Last Day at Work

Its my last day at work and I don't want to go, much like every other day. Not looking forward to this exit interview. Blahhhh!

One More Week

There's still not much going on to write about. Had a little going away party last night. I was able to give away several things I did not want to take to Arizona with me. I still need to sell a few bigger items, especially my bed.

A Brief History

I suppose I should've started this blog with a bit of history, but it's probably not too late.

I moved to Salisbury, MD from Chino Valley, AZ in 2003, at the age of 20, for a boy I'd met online about a year and a half earlier, and in person, just a month and a half earlier. We got married a few months later, and separated 6 years, many bottles and a few bruises later. Last March our divorce was final, and now, my lease is about to be up.

I made the decision to go back home, in hopes of finding a better job, and a generally better life. It will also be nice to see my (crazy) family more often since I have, for example, seen my littlest sister (who isn't so little anymore) once since I left, 4 1/2 years ago.

So, that's where we are now. I am packing as much as I can into my car, shipping one or two boxes, and selling or giving away the rest. I leave Salisbury on the 26th (at which point, this blog should be more entertaining, perhaps) and will arrive in the Phoenix area on February 3rd. Where will I go between then? What will I do? Well, you'll have to check back to see!
